Foreword
The Author’s Words
1. Some very serious and major problems faced by the rapid development of China’s science and technology, economy and society which cannot be solved by conventional science and technology
2. Some “Science and technology innovation achievements challenging the basic theories of traditional science and technology” helpful to solve the major difficult problems faced by China (Energy Section)
3. With the attitude that “modern science research is high specialized”, can amateur researchers (spare-time researchers) and transdisciplinary researchers “achieve any significant discoveries” and make “revolutionary contributions?” Under the present circumstances with rather the high-level development of science and technology of today, could great inventors like Watt or Edison still emerge today?
4. Why is it that “transdisciplinary researchers – spare time researchers” can challenge “professional” researchers and the basic theories of conventional science and technology?
5. The embarrassment of the world’s educational system
6. The reason why Japan makes greater and greater investments into science and technology R & D but the return in practical results is so limited
7. Global science and technology in many fields are at the cusp of a revolutionary period which will take a quantum leap in the number and type of significant science and technology innovations brought forth.
