My investigation reveals that most important work in this respect was contributed by:
1) Zhang Tie-zheng:
The developer of the “MS Double Time Method” for EQ prediction started work on this issue through a series of phenomena he discovered through geomagnetic observation back in 1968.
2) Liu Cheng-chang:
A senior physical exploration engineer, began to study relationship between astronomy events, EQs and other natural disasters in 1970s. Two of his papers in 1979 include: “Preliminary trial in predicting EQs with closest point of Mars to Earth” and “Preliminary analysis of the relationship between the motion of Halley’s comet and EQs”.
3) Zhang Jia-xiang:
Results of long-term observation of geo-pressure mine accidents since the 1970s, led Zhang Jia-xiang, a senior mining engineer to study the effect of the Earth’s revolution around the Sun, and published his first paper on this issue in 1991.
4) Wu Xi-hao:
Seismology researcher, in 1995 published an important paper, “The structural movement response to eccentricity variation of the Earth’s revolution orbit.”
5) Yang Xue-xiang:
Prof. Yang, in 1998 published an important book “Geodynamics of the Earth’s Differential Revolution and Revolution”, he summed up the work by scholars studies in the field abroad and in China, together with his important contribution on this subject.
Due to restrictions of length of this paper, only some of the most important essential contributions by the above EQ prediction practicers and researchers can only be briefly introduced below.
Welcome questions and discussions on the issues presented by the author.
